AND SCHOOL READINESS

STRATEGIES:

ECSS network participant agencies and service providers will complete ECSS Risk Assessments on young children ages 0 through 5 years or their families who are, or become active, in the agency or provider caseload

  • Identify and serve children who exhibit specific problems such as those related to development disabilities and delays.

  • Provide family counseling, vocational and educational counseling, and other types of counseling to needy children and families identified by the ECSS network partners.

  • Ensure that families have sufficient food, medical coverage, quality, affordable child care, and reliable transportation that enables them to work.

  • Focus on educational and training opportunities that improve wages and working conditions for low-income families.

OUTCOMES:

  • 1,050 families with young children ages 0 through 5 years will be screened to determine if intervention is necessary.  These families will fall within two hundred percent (200%) of the federal poverty level.
